You are undergoing or have undergone chemotherapy/radiation treatment in the past six months
You are using or have used Isotretinoin (Accutane®) in the last six months
Lip Pre-treatment:
Please use a hydrating lip balm for 3-5 days leading up to your appointment. We want to ensure your lips are well hydrated!
Day of the procedure:
Limit caffeine consumption
No alcohol prior to your appointment
Please no lipstick. You may wear your regular makeup to the appointment... or no makeup
Starting one week before the procedure:
Avoid tanning beds and exposure to the sun (no sunburns)
Starting two weeks before the procedure:
Limit use of retinol/tretinoin on or near the lips
No medical-grade skin resurfacing products or treatments on or near the lips
For clients with ANY history of cold sores/fever blisters/herpes, please contact your physician and request a prescription to prevent/treat breakout (typically Acyclovir or Valtrex). Take according to your physician's instructions (typically one day before, the day of, and the day after your appointment). Please note that Lip Blushing should only be performed 4 weeks after your most recent outbreak. The prescription does not guarantee the avoidance of an outbreak, but reduces the likelihood one occurs. All other questions or concerns should be discussed with your physician
Additional notes:
If you wear lipstick, please come in with pictures so we can get a feel for the shape and color you are accustomed to; we will still determine the perfect lips for you through measurements and color matching. Throughout the entire appointment, you will have every opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions. Before we begin the procedure, you will approve the final lip shape and color. We want you to be completely comfortable and happy the entire appointment!
You will receive all of the aftercare products and instructions to care for your new lips at your appointment!
