Microblading is a form of permanent makeup (also referred to as a cosmetic tattoo) where hair-like strokes are added to the brow area, adding color, definition, and shape to your existing brows. Your artist uses a manual tool (the microblade) to gently etch hair-like strokes into the superficial layers of the skin, then deposits pigment into the opening. As the skin heals, pigment is retained under the skin, resulting in a realistic, hair-like pattern. During your appointment at KNS, your artist will:

A note on microblading: there has been tremendous growth in the technique and technology of permanent makeup. "Microblading" has become a ubiquitous term for eyebrow permanent makeup in general, but the technique itself has largely been replaced by Powderbrow and Nanobrow, both of which are performed using a tattoo machine, promoting healthier healing and better long-term brow integrity. At KNS, we always recommend Powderbrow as the preferred technique.
How long does Microblading last?
Microblading generally lasts 1 to 3 years before requiring a Periodic Touch-up. The duration varies based on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and the color of the pigment. By following our permanent makeup aftercare instructions, you'll maximize the appearance of your microblading over time. 6 to 8 weeks after your initial Microblading appointment, an Initial Touch-up appointment is required to darken or fill any microbladed areas that healed too lightly. This ensures your eyebrows look even and full over time.
Periodic Touch-ups are encouraged to maintain the color and density of your brows. One last thing: don't be fooled by permanent makeup artists referring to Microblading as "semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing." Any time pigment is injected into the skin, it should be considered a permanent procedure. When microblading is performed properly, pigment is only inserted into the upper layers of your skin, and the results will fade over time, but should still be considered permanent.
Who is a candidate for Microblading?
